Start a Magazine for Free [Learn How?]

The concept might be new for you but I am going to explain it anyways 😁.

In the most simple words, I will describe magazine as 

simply a collection of selected  articles which can be or cannot be of the same topic.

From the title it is evident that I will share with you an idea by which you can start a magazine from literally zero dollars.

Generally, for a magazine you need cash 💰 a lot of editing, maintenance and some legal stuff. But, what I am going to share is an underrated idea that can turn the tables for you.

What if I tell you it is possible to publish a magazine for free, with some smart work and little maintenance.

For a magazine you need readers. Without them there is no point of starting a magazine in the first place. And it is a fact that the trend is changing and people are shifting to online reading platforms,apps, kindles or whatever medium but online. So why not starting a magazine online? Bad idea? Let's see.

There are 3 types of publications

1- Offline - Printed magazine, consist of articles selected and edited by editors ( requires money, editing and legal copyright stuff)

2- Digital (PDF version of the offline magazine. It cannot be updated. It also consist of articles selected and edited by editors. New editions can be published yearly or monthly basis.) An example is a daily digital newspaper.

3- Online magazine is a website which is designed as a magazine (It is updated regularly with new posts)

Benefits of Online magazine:

1. The online magazine can put Google adsense ads. You can earn money from the online magazine.
2. The online magazine can be converted into an app. This will enhance the reach. Ads can be placed in the app.
3. Not a single penny spent.
4. If this works good enough, the revenue can be used to publish a magazine offline.
5. Plus there is no need to use paper, just type it on mobile/desktop and publish it.
6. You can use the content for offline magazine as well.

What is needed to make this work?

Your contribution and believe in what you are doing. You need to invest some time. Well it's worth it if it works out for you.

How to start?

1. Go to blogger.com and create a blog/website name and URL.
2. Select a template for your magazine. Be sure to select a magazine template not a blog template. You will find a number of magazine templates for free online. ( Plus I can select it for you and customise it according to your need, check services page)
3. After step 2, fill your magazine with original content. No need to hire some expensive authors. Look for friends that love writing and have good english. Add them as authors to your magazine. Make sure that you let them understand how blogger post editor works.
4. Socialize your magazine posts. Share it on social media sites like Facebook, twitter and instagram.
5. After having a decent traffic and decent number of articles(30-50), apply for adsense 💵.
6. After applying adsense on your website, now convert your magazine into an app (Don't know how? Check services page)
7. After your app has been created include Admob/Facebook audience ads.
8. Socialize your app as well.
9. Now, if it works out to be good enough for you. Use the money to publish an offline magazine or shift your blogspot to a Wordpress site and with a custom domain.
