Earn money from YouTube [How?]

In this post I am going to share my knowledge about how anyone can earn money from YouTube in 2021.

First of all, I know all of you who came to read this post, know what is YouTube? But for the sake of formality let me tell you that YouTube is a video streaming service provided by Google where content creators upload videos and people/subscribers watch their videos.

Youtube has benefited content creators in three major ways.

1. Youtube has allowed a content creator to be appreciated for their work and their worth has been recognized.
2. Youtube has enabled a content creator to earn money from the content they produce.
3. Youtube has provided a safe place for content creators where their copyrights are protected .

Now in this post I am going to talk about how YouTube has enabled a content creator to earn money?

Youtube has made that possible in a number of different ways

1- Monetization

YouTube Monetization means that ads of the advertisers run on your YouTube videos. Well wait a sec, you need to fulfill the eligibility requirements to be able to monetize your videos and earn money.

Youtube Monetization Eligibility Criteria:

1. 1000 subscribers
2. 4000 hours watch times
3. No copyrights issues, or videos made for kids.

Can you earn a lot of money from YouTube Monetization?

Yes and No. Yes because CPC (Cost per click) and your eCPM (effective Cost per mile or per thousand impressions) depends primarily on Your audience. Let say your audience is 90% from european countries and USA (these subscribers from these countries have more buying power leading to valuable clicks on ads). On the other hand Asian countries like Pakistan and India (where buying power is not that great, there is a lesser chance that the clicker of the ad will buy the advertised product). This is the reason why Youtubers with asian audience face lower income as compared to the same niche channels in European countries and USA.

For example a vlogger can earn 10$ in the USA (per thousand views) while a vlogger in Pakistan or India can earn only 1-2$. The effort can be the same but you can't do anything with the audience and the geographic location.

Now is that the end? for countries like Pakistan or India. Well no. You can still cover up this gap and earn a healthy amount of YouTube income.

2- Sponsoring Your Videos

Sponsoring means that a certain brand asks you to advertise their product to the audience in your videos. The logic behind this is quite simple. It allows sponsors to reach a bigger and relevant audience. Most of the time it increases their sales to ten times as compared to if they were using AdSense or Facebook for advertising.

For content creators video sponsors are like saviors. After settling the terms, sponsors pay a good amount to the YouTube creator.

Plus some subscribers can pay in the form of equipment they send you. And some can sponsor your trips if you are a travel vlogger.

Before thinking about this method you should have an audience. You can find sponsors with even 1000 subscribers.

3- Affiliate Marketing on YouTube

Well pretty much the same concept as above but the difference is you find or search for affiliate programs offered by companies or websites. You join their affiliate program. After joining you can use the affiliate or sometimes called the referral link to send a user from YouTube to buy/sign up for something. When they sign up and make a purchase/spend money, you get a small percentage commission.

4- Selling Your Services

If you have skills that people need to get their work done, you can use these skills to earn money. For example you are good at graphic designing. You can produce or showcase videos that have visually appealing graphic designing. Do a little advertising of yourself. If you are on fiverr or upwork share your links in the video description so that chances of someone giving you work increases. 

Plus you can create paid courses of your skill and teach others. Advertise your paid course on your channel. Your portfolio is your videos, make sure they are effective enough to make people sign up for your course.
