Life of a Medical Student [First Year]

Life of a Medical Student [First Year]
Starting the 5 year journey. Quite Ambitious! Quite Motivated! A medical student cannot feel more happy when he is starting this journey. You might be wondering who is the post about?. Not about a single person. Well I tried to explain it for every medical student.

So, let's start with some phases that you/someone who is in first year of medical school goes through.

1- The feeling of Pride😁

After securing your seat in a medical college you dive into a pool of pride. A pride that makes you think that you have achieved something extraordinary. In a way that's correct but still we haven't become a doctor.
Well this pride keeps you jolly for two or three months. No study for you because you have entered a medical school. Right !. Enjoy this phase!

2- Ragged πŸ˜‰

You can't escape this. You step into the medical school there is no way of escaping from it. You will always find people senior to you who are eagerly waiting to tame the newcomers. The ragging season can take 1 week or 1 month depending on your college.
The seniors say that this makes the newcomers know them well. Well let's believe that.

3- Failing your 1st test/Stage

I understand, it sucks. But, it makes you realize that Medical school is not a joke. You need to work hard here to survive here. Or else you will end up failing every test/stage.

4- Finding Studying Boring

You got your Admission. Your dream came true. Now what. Everything changes when you are introduced to crazy terminologies of Anatomy, Concepts of biochemistry, and mighty textbook of physiology which you find pretty hard to read. Well it depends on your teacher and the way you study these subjects. If you have a good teacher who is able to build your interest in the subject then surely you will love to conquer these subjects. Also if you use proper online education tools for these subjects you can supplement your study as well.

5- Making Friends

This is the phase when you get to meet new people. People from different areas and with different personalities. The good thing is you don't care about choosing friends at this moment. Everyone seems like a friend. It's natural because everyone is showing their good side to others. Eventually as you get to know people you start choosing wisely.

6- Being an ungroomed person

Well you get to realise how ungroomed you were when you see your old pics of first year.

7- The Immaturity is Real

😁 It is in this phase that your immature side is at peak. You talk in an immature way. Act in an immature way. You are unaware of your immaturity. But believe me you will laugh when you reflect back on how you were in your first year of Medical College.

I might have missed some points. Pardon me for that.
